Yes. All investigations will be requested as necessary on the same day of your consultation.
What is Arthritis?
Cartilage is a tough elastic material that covers and protects the ends of bones. Over time the cartilage may wear away entirely and the bones rub against each other. This will cause paining and swelling in the joint. It can affect any joint but commonly it affects hips and knees. If this is not treated properly it can seriously affect the quality of life.
Do I need physiotherapy after surgery?
Yes. Most of the Orthopaedic problems will need physiotherapy input. It facilitates early recovery and optimization of joint movements. It also improves muscle strength and power. Many exercises could be learnt and practiced by yourself, which determines the success of your surgery.
What should I bring for an appointment?
You need to bring all your previous medical records including X-Rays and Scans. If you had surgery elsewhere try to get a copy of your operation records.
